Former Chairman of the Department of Maxillo Facial Surgery at Rabin Medical Center at Tel Aviv, ISRAEL

Prof. Shlomo Calderon studied dental medicine at the Istanbul University in Turkey, interned in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the Sheba Medical Center in Israel, and thereafter studied for fellowship in Orthognathic and Reconstructive surgery at the Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami, U.S.A. He is a Fellow of the American Association and the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a Life Fellow of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the American Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Society, and a member of the International Society of Medical Optics.
From 1983 until 2011 Prof. Calderon had been the Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Rabin Medical Center and Head of the Residency Program.

He was elected President of the Israeli Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons between 1990-1994.
Between 2004-2011, he had been Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Tel Aviv University Goldschleger School of Dental Medicine.
Prof. Calderon has published over 100 scientific papers in the international literature of oral and maxillofacial surgery and pathology. His research has focused on orthognathic and reconstructive surgery and Prof. Calderon has innovated instrumentation and techniques in laser surgery for treatment of oral lesions.
Professor Calderon is sought after for lectures at conferences both in Israel and abroad.
Since 2011 is conducting a private practice limited for orthognathic surgery.
