Professor Shaw, Chair in Head & Neck Surgery in the University of Liverpool, has been an Honorary Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery since 2007 at the Aintree Unit. He has an interest in clinical trials, has led several, and currently has the role of specialty lead for surgical oncology trials in all disciplines for the UK Cancer Network. He has previously chaired the surgery subgroup of the NCRI Head & Neck Clinical Studies Group. His laboratory research interests include molecular biomarkers, cancer epigenetics and HPV mediated head and neck cancer. His clinical interests include all aspects of oral cavity cancer, premalignancy, osteoradionecrosis and complex microvascular reconstruction. He leads the Liverpool Masters Degree in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and co-chairs the Liverpool Practical Microvascular Course.
