Dr. Lampros Goutzanis is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with special interests in Head and Neck Cancer and clinical education. He qualified in Dentistry and Medicine at the University of Thessaloniki and worked as a GP for a year. He received his MSc in Oral Pathobiology from the Dental School, University of Athens, in 1996. He was in residence training in General Surgery from 1996 to 1997 and in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from 1997 to 2000. After that he received his first PhD from the Dental School, University of Athens, and his second PhD from the Medical School, University of Athens.

Dr. Lampros Goutzanis is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with special interests in Head and Neck Cancer and clinical education. Dr. Goutzanis was elected Lecturer in Oraland Maxillofacial Surgery at the Dental School,University of Athens in 2008, and appointed at “Evangelismos” General Hospital of Athens in 2009.In 2013 he received training in microvascular surgery and flap reconstructive techniques from Prof. Klaus D.Wolff, at the Klinikum rechts der Isar, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,University of Munich,Germany,wherehe worked for 6 months. Subsequently he was elected Assistant Professor at the University of Athens, working simultaneously at the University Clinic of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,“Evangelismos”General Hospital of Athens.In 2011 he received “Eminent Scientist of the Year” Award from the International Research Promotion Council (IRPC).
Dr. Goutzanis has been the General Secretary o HAOMS since November, 2014. He is a member of several National and International Professional Associations. He has published over 30 National and International papersand his research interests focus on oral cancer and specifically diagnostic and prognostic factors.
