Assistant Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the College of Dentistry, Taihah University in Saudi Arabia

Dr. Esam Omar graduated from the University of London (Eastman Dental Institute, United Kingdom) after a residency program at UCL Hospitals and the Eastman Dental Institute of London, UK, with a Masters Degree and a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland FFDRCSI in 2005. He is a fellow of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Senior Fellow of the Head and Neck Optical Diagnostics Society, in London, UK.

From December of 2006 until July of 2008 he was an Assistant Professor and Consultant of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in King Khalid University (KKU) and the Head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department and of the Biomedical Dental Sciences Department and Director of the Dental Hospital at KKU.

In July 2008 Dr. Omar moved to Taibah University. He was the previous Head of Maxillofacial Surgery Department, previous Head of the Basic and Clinical Oral Sciences Department and previous member of college advisory committee. He is still holding a position of Assistant Professor and member of Department Committee. 

Dr. Omar's research interests include: Robot in maxillofacial surgery, Optical Biopsy in diagnosis of oral sequamous cell carcinoma, Saliva based on Oral Diagnosis and the effect of Anti-oxidant in bone healing.
