Dr. Sofronia Stavrinidou was born in Limassol, Cyprus. She received her Bachelor Degree in Audiology and Speech Sciences at Michigan State University,USA , and her Masters Degree  in Communicative Disorders, at the University of Louisiana, Monroe, USA. She participated in the Study Abroad Program "Communication Disorders in The British Isles" which was held at University College of London. She received a Postgraduate Certificate in Cleft Palate Studies at the University of Sheffield, UK. She was trained in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, in Sacramento, USA.

She is a certified member of the American Speech and Hearing Association, of the Cyprus Association of Speech Language Pathologists, of the American Cleft Palate Association and the International Association of Orofacial Myology.

She was employed as a Speech Language Pathologist by the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Civilization. She is a member of the Cyprus Center for Clefts and Facial Deformities Medicleft and the founder and Director of Itherapy. Since 2005 she works in private practice, with a special interest in Cleft Palate Speech, in Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders, and in language development of children.
